• Over the last 100 years, sea levels have risen about 8 inches, nearly double that of the previous 100 years.
• Since the 19th Century, average surface temperatures have risen about 2 degrees Fahrenheit. Sixteen of the 17 warmest
years on record have occurred since 2001.
• The top layer of oceans have warmed .3 degrees Fahrenheit since 1969.
• Ice sheets in Iceland and Antarctica have shrunk hundreds of cubic miles.
• Arctic sea ice is disappearing.
• Glaciers are shrinking.
• Record high temperatures are increasing and record low temperatures are decreasing.
• Increased Carbon Dioxide in the air is finding its way into the oceans through rain and direct absorption. The acidity of surface
ocean water has increased about 30%, endangering marine life.
• North American snow cover has decreased over the last 50 years.
